Antique English Victorian long necklace with a watch clip in 9 karat gold. Late 19th century. The clip was used to hold items such as lorgnettes and watches, or to thread through a muff so it could be worn around the neck, falling at or below the waist. Marked A.C.C. 9CT on the clasp and also marked 9CT on a cartouche at the top of the chain. The hinge of the clasp is brass, shown on both sides in photos. Beautiful statement size necklace made from very large glass melon shaped beads with a fine herringbone impressed design. Definitely French, and a possible Rousselet. Circa 1960. The pink beads are simulating rose quartz and are made in a givre style: transparent with cloudy "inclusions." The pink beads are spaced with transparent peach glass disk shaped beads, and rondelles with brilliant colorless strass stones...

In the 1960s and 1970s, Ciner specialized in costume jewelry inspired by the enameled gold and jeweled figural animal designs of the fine jewelry maker David Webb (these days Roberto Cavalli is the contemporary master of the costume version of this look). Incredible very dimensional carved bangle with rose, leaf, and floral motifs. The floral motifs have "worm" style carving around the center flowers. Circa 1935. Tests positive for Bakelite.
