Beautiful statement size necklace made from very large glass melon shaped beads with a fine herringbone impressed design. Definitely French, and a possible Rousselet. Circa 1960. The pink beads are simulating rose quartz and are made in a givre style: transparent with cloudy "inclusions." The pink beads are spaced with transparent peach glass disk shaped beads, and rondelles with brilliant colorless strass stones. The strand is caught in a constructed loop of linked together large brilliant prong set strass stones, and there is a matching ring of strass stones between the last two pink beads of the drop. The large pink bead at the end of the drop is finished with a tiny prong set strass stone. The pink color is clearer and slightly warmer than the photos depict. Great size -- wearable length is approximately 20 inches. The drop is an additional 5 inches. The strass loop is 1 3/4 inches long and the strass ring at the end of the drop is 1 inch wide. Each pink bead is 3/4 inch or 20 mm in diameter. Excellent condition. Photos enlarged to show detail. Display form is lifesize.
