Huge statement necklace in silvertone metal with a thick flat "gaspipe" or snake chain closing in the front at a heavy dark blue enameled center element, with a very unusual double snap closure. Marked MONET. 1970s. This "utility modern" look originated as part of the Machine Age style of the 1930s and enjoyed a revival in the 1970s and 1980s, and has been interpreted various ways in costume and fine jewelry, including by such makers as Cartier. Stunning vintage natural undyed pale salmon angel skin coral and black onyx 9 strand beaded necklace with a goldtone, probably gold plated, slide clasp with with a large onyx cabochon. Circa 1970. The clasp has a flip safety catch. 30 inches wearable length and about 1 1/4 inches wide. It weighs 123 grams. The larger coral beads are 3/8 inch long by 1/8inch wide or 6mm by 4mm. Gorgeous vintage 1970s torsade necklace with 3 strands of carved round Chinese turquoise beads with a few freshwater pearl spacers, and 2 strands of large freshwater pearls. Filigree gold filled box slide clasp which marked 14K and a symbol for gold filled. The largest turquoise beads are 5mm and the pearls are 7mm. Wearable length is 21 inches. About 1 1/2 inches wide. Very weighty and substantial and makes a fabulous statement. Designed in the North African tribal style which was Saint Laurent's lifelong inspiration. Wearable length is 20 inches. Simply stunning and very dimensional collar or bib necklace in colorless Lucite strung on monofilament. With a metal hook and extender chain of metal wired Lucite beads. Circa 1970, in the style of Coppola e Toppo. Possibly Italian. Small beads alternating with large beads are strung in raised arches. Very large faceted drops alternate with large bead drops. The design is very complex and dimensional and the photos do not do justice.
