This necklace can be found with the Les Bernard signature. Substantial at 162 grams. Wearable length is 18 1/4 inches and width is just under 1 1/2 inches. Excellent condition. Stunning vintage 1920s cherry amber Bakelite necklace with round translucent beads hand knotted with silk thread, in a continuous strand with no clasp. Tests positive for Bakelite with Simichrome. 146 grams. The beads are all 12 millimeters. 63 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. Marked ALTON SWEDEN 935 STERLING (935 is actually a higher silver content than sterling, which is of course 925). Great statement from all angles. Easy to slip on and off. Fabulous 1960s or 1970s big glass beaded necklace with jewel tone art glass beads, most likely French. Also from the same estate, coordinating pierced earrings with black and white glass cabochons which are very similar to the black and white embedded in some of the beads on the necklace. There is a silvertone bead at the back that looks like a French style screw barrel clasp, but it appears to be a faux decorative clasp. It is not needed as the necklace is long enough to go over the head easily...
