Contemporary jewelry by Mark Davis combines vintage refinished Bakelite pieces with precious stones set in 18KT gold, for a very distinctive and iconic look. Mark Davis jewelry is featured frequently in editorial content in Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. These bangles were originally purchased at Nieman Marcus; Mark Davis jewelry is currently also sold at Barney's New York and small jewelry specialty boutiques. All three are creamy dark ivory/pale yellow Bakelite with gold bezel-set stones. One is set with 6 smoky topaz stones, 3 mm in diameter each, one is set with 3 blue sapphires, 2 mm in diameter each, and one is set with 3 pink sapphires, 2 mm in diameter each. Each has a gold applied cartouche marked MARK DAVIS NEW YORK and 750, which is the European designation for 18KT gold. Each bangle is 1/2 inch wide, 1/4 inch thick, and standard 2 1/2 inches inside diameter. Excellent condition. The color is warmer and slightly more yellow than the photos show.
