Stunning unsigned Schreiner necklace with detachable large brooch. The signed brooch only version of this piece is more common. In dark silvertone metal with huge marbled mauve pink glass stones, and huge pale violet blue molded glass leaf form stones. Many Schreiner pieces were made for designers such as Christian Dior, Norman Norell, Pauline Trigere, and others, and were unsigned because they were made to be shown or sold as accessories to the designer's couture clothing collection. Signed Schreiner pieces were made to be sold individually in stores. Key Schreiner construction elements on this piece include the dogtooth prongs, the crimped backs of the stone settings, and the stones themselves. The neckace has a wearable length of 17 inches. The center drops 4 1/4 inches. The bib overall is 6 1/2 inches wide. The brooch is 2 3/4 inches by 2 3/4 inches. Each stone is 1 1/8 inches long. Excellent condition. Photos enlarged to show detail.
