Works by contemporary couture jeweler Iradj Moini are rare and sought-after. This is an early piece by Moini, and is an homage to a ruby and diamond brooch by Duke Fulco di Verdura, who is most well known for his collaboration with Coco Chanel. Marked IRADJ MOINI. Gripoix glass red cabochon stones and brilliant colorless strass stones are set in dark silvertone metal. With a clip/pin back which allows it to be worn as a pin or as a pendant. This would have a fabulous couture look worn as a pendant on a black ribbon, or clipped on a thick torsade strand of glass or stone beads, or pearls. Perfectly of the moment; statement jewelry is the "it" accessory of the season. 3 1/8 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, and 1 1/4 inches deep. Excellent condition. Photos enlarged to show detail.
