Fabulous heavy French necklace, circa 1960, with amazing blue and black foiled baroque shaped beads, opaque faceted black beads, and glittering faceted blue transparent beads, all connected with metal wires. All beads are glass. There are six tiers with draped festoons. The beads are arranged in a slightly asymmetrical pattern. The clasp is marked MADE IN FRANCE. The metal is brass with a silvertone finish. The blue faceted beads are probably Swarovski. A stunning piece and perfectly of the moment; the statement necklace is the current "it" accessory. The blue and black foiled beads are up to 15 mm, and the blue and black faceted beads are up to 10 mm. Wearable length is 15 1/2 inches. The center drops about 4 inches. Excellent condition.
