Amazing vintage Antonio Pineda Mexico necklace featuring a silver and onyx layered pendant on a thick black silk velvet cord, with matching silver balls on the ends of the cord. Circa 1950 or 1960. Marked with the crown shaped Antonio Taxco mark, also marked HECHO EN MEXICO, 970, design letters/numbers YY 634, and with the eagle assay mark. It weighs 52 grams. The pendant slides along the cord, which is very soft and drapes beautifully once tied, with the weight of the silver balls on the ends. The quatrefoil cruciform design and the black velvet cord give this piece a stunning couture look. A fabulous statement piece and extremely wearable for day or night.

The pendant with bale is 3 inches long and 2 1/4 inches wide. The velvet cord is 26 inches long and the balls are 5/8 inch in diameter. Excellent condition. Photos enlarged to show detail.
