Stunning very very big 1970s signed Les Bernard tiered necklace in goldtone metal with Byzantine style and Roman style coins, dark silvertone beads,
marbled amber Lucite beads, and transparent amber Lucite beads mounted in heavy ornate cast metal settings, with a large center cross pendant. With heavy
ornate chains and hook clasp. The coins have a dark antiqued finish with touches of black. Marked LES BERNARD on the clasp and on the back of the largest coin. The Les Bernard company, now closed, as well as making jewelry under its own name, made jewelry for Mary McFadden, James Galanos, and Ugo
Correani. Some Les Bernard jewelry was designed by Ugo Correani, who had his own line and also designed for Karl Lagerfeld, Versace, and others. Very rarely
one sees pieces with both names. Incredible size -- inside strand is 24 inches and the center drops 12 inches to the bottom of the cross pendant. Excellent condition.
