Beautiful large antique brooch in unmarked silver, with large glass paste stones with tiny black dots painted in the centers, mimicking the open culet (the flat bottom of the stone) of early diamond cuts. Circa 1800. With C catch and extended pin stem. The setting is silver with parts possibly silver plated. The center stone is very large, 13mm/1/2 inch in diameter, and the surrounding stones are 8mm in diameter. This piece appears to have some old repairs on the back, and is probably missing a silver point on the pinpoint end, although there doesn't seem to have ever been a fourth point on the adjacent side. Slight wear on the facets of the stones. It is still very beautiful, the stones are much more brilliant than the pictures show, and it's a great piece to wear on a ribbon as shown. Price is very significantly adjusted for condition issues. 1 1/2 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch deep. Photos enlarged to show detail.
